Among thick woods and clear springs of the Northern Dauni Mountains, located at 456 m a.s.l. and surrounded by unspoilt nature, stands Pietramontecorvino, one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy" and "Orange Flag" of the Italian Touring Club. These two prestigious merits were recognized by the fact that the place, in addition to presenting a healthy and intact, the waters, the forest of Sant'Onofrio, food and wine with the delicious specialties of the place, It still retains a beautiful old town with the characteristic cave-houses that partly retain the original appearance and the Ducal Palace, the Matrix Church and the austere Norman Tower that is the master. Located in the wide Guado degli Uncini Valley, Pietramontecorvino bears its name to the ancient medieval town of Montecorvino, a city founded around the year 1000 and disappeared in the fifteenth century, now an archaeological site about 7 kilometers away from the village.
