The cooperative Daunia & Bio is an Organization of Agricultural Producers, operating in the territory of Foggia, in the north of Puglia, dedicated and specialized in cultivation with the methods of Organic Farming. It was founded in 2011 with this mission: to aggregate the production of organic cereals, and especially durum wheat, and to guarantee the origin, food security, the quality of their production, enhancing the typical features of the area, and thus fostering the economic and social development of Daunia.
For the O.P. Daunia & Bio Soc. Coop., organic products are to be considered typical par excellence, as only respect for nature and the environment of reference allow to fully preserve the culture and local traditions. The Producers Organization Daunia & Bio Soc. Coop. has, in its mission, the aggregation and qualification of the offer of certified organic product, with specific reference to cereals. O.P. Daunia & Bio Soc. Coop., with this classification, is recognized and included in No. 29 of the list Puglia Region of Producer Organizations referred to in art. 4 of D.Lgs. n. 102 of 27 May 2005. The members, in the organic chain "dedicated" to the production of high quality durum wheat, all operate in the province of Foggia.
The company is governed and regulated according to the principle of mutuality without the purpose of private speculation and the conduct of its business is primarily aimed at members. The mutual purpose, which the members intend to pursue, is to obtain, within the corporate object, through the management in associated form, at the best conditions compared to those obtainable on the market, the increase and the valorization of the agricultural productions of the companies of the single associates, placing on the market their own product and supplying of technical means and services, in the within of the general orientations of the economy. The Cooperative Society can also carry out its activities with non-member third parties. In mutual relations, the cooperative shall respect the principle of equal treatment between cooperating members.
