Tuccanese di Orsara di Puglia
Its origin is still unclear, whether it was imported during the Angevin domination of 1300 or whether it is a clone of Piedirosso di Benevento or even originates from the Sicilian Perricone (and then was brought to Apulia in the Aragonese period).
The pruinose berry of Tuccanese preserves within itself sugars and aromas until the late harvest in the Monti Dauni, to release in that ruby red floral and slightly spicy notes.
