Information
The Bosco di Mezzana is located close to the village, so it is easily accessible, even on foot. It represents a rare and well-preserved example of the larger areas of oak woods that once covered the first hills of the Monti Dauni.
It consists of broad-leaved trees and mainly oaks, with a very developed undergrowth and rich in species; remarkable in the spring the presence of orchids.
The Bosco di Tuoro, on the other hand, is located between Alberona and Biccari and thanks to its isolated position it hosts an interesting fauna, mainly consisting of badgers, foxes and birds of prey such as kestrel and owl.
