Over time it lost the profile of the Norman defensive castle, probably built in the twelfth century, to assume those of a noble residence, residence of the Marulli Dukes in the eighteenth century.
Very interesting is the sumptuous main entrance portal surmounted by a loggia with a series of arched windows, which elegantly mark the entire facade, beyond which there is a charming quadrangular courtyard paved with cobblestone radial.
Inside there are large frescoed rooms embellished with eighteenth-century doors and spiral stairs, one of which accompanies the watchtower. Among these aristocratic environments there are the remains of sixteenth-century fortifications and the original prisons of the construction of the castle.
In the summer of 2019 the building was reopened to the public following restoration, after more than thirty years of closure.
