Information
The church, built in 1716, was the seat of the homonymous Brotherhood.
The façade is simple and in grey stone with regular rectangular blocks, interrupted only by the portal with an Ionic temple , the oculus with the high relief of the virgin and the inscription "Dolurum Virgini"dated 1936, the year in which the building was restored.
The interior has a single nave which is accessed through a small endonarthex consisting of three round arches and on which rests a beautiful pipe organ. Its walls contain several statues of saints, the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows and a beautiful wooden crucifix.
The church has a historical archive where it is documented the institution directed by King Charles III of Anjou. The archive also retains a statute listing the rights and duties of the congregations; over the years and with the change in government the coven remained, but the regulation was modified according to the times and still exists today.
