Information
The Church of the Annunziata strikes the visitor, already from afar, thanks to the candour of the high stone bell tower of Trani, while the facade has a portal of Renaissance style. The sacred building is a Latin cross, with semicircular apse and roof of the dome transept. The interior has stucco decorations and frescoes by Lamarra, as well as bas-relief medallions depicting the seven feasts of the Virgin and the altar canvas dedicated to the Annunciation of the Bovinese painter Michele Lombardi. From this church on the evening of March 19, following the religious service, the procession of lighting of the bonfires is dedicated to Saint Joseph and scattered throughout the city, while in the Christmas period you can admire a remarkable nativity scene.
