Information
Also called "Church of the Dead", as it once housed the Brotherhood of Good Death, the religious building has a crypt, which in the past was used for burials. The church is characterized by a beautiful travertine façade in one order, with niches and Ionic pilasters, and a wide access staircase . Other characteristic elements are the stone bell tower with rounded tip, the bell cell in red brick and the bas-relief depicting a skull surmounted by a cross.
The interior of the Church contains stucco decorations of good workmanship and is enriched by painted canvases, of the eighteenth century, of a certain artistic value. Here are kept an urn containing the relics and an ampoule containing the blood of Saint Celestine Martyr, whose feast is celebrated on the second Sunday of October.
