Information
The medieval Castelluccio was closed by a ring of walls, which in reality consisted of real fortified buildings with towers. These were interrupted only by the entrances to the village, through large doors, such as the Porta del Pozzo and the Porta del Piscero, and small arches. The passages and the vaults are still a peculiarity of the urban plan of Castelluccio.
The Arch of Via Osteria (Porta del Pozzo) is a real barrel vault that crosses at street level an ancient masonry building. The small Arch of Via Gradelle (Porta a Torre), is located near the Byzantine Tower and crosses it passes from the maze of alleys of the old town to the airiness of a viewpoint over the Valley of Celone. The Arch of Vico II Umberto, the Arch of Via Sotto Le Mura and the Arch of Via Sisto which is the deepest and leads to the Palazzo del Conte are still very beautiful.
