Information
With an area of over 300 hectares, the woods of Monte Sambuco are characterized by the presence of oaks, Turkey oaks, maples, elms, linden trees, hornbeams, hazelnuts, willows and white poplars. The wooded area is crossed by paths that can be used for hiking, mountain biking or horse riding; also in the forest there is an adventure park with acrobatic trails suspended between the trees. Remarkable the presence of avifauna, among which the raptors stand out, with buzzards, kites, owls, owls and hawks; also present magpies, crows, woodpeckers, pigeons, torticollis, robin, sparrowhawks and brushwoods. The more experienced hikers will be able to identify tracks and wads of wild boar, foxes, badgers, roe deer, martens and the luckiest spines of porcupine. The Mount also houses an ancient church that today presents itself with modern forms. Every May 6, on the occasion of the celebrations for Saint John the Baptist, the procession of the faithful arrives at this church from Motta Montecorvino accompanied by wagons filled with flowers that recall biblical passages.
