Information
The mill of the Pirozzoli family opened its doors in 1914 and finally stopped its millstones in 1982; initially it was a mill with a diesel engine ("burst") which was later replaced by an electric motor. Here, too, we are faced with a testimony of a vanished rural world, made of life in the fields, cycles of nature, and work and social rites. The socialization of the community took place during certain periods of the year characterized by some agricultural processes, such as harvesting, olive harvesting and harvesting. In the places of the transformation of raw materials into products, as were the mills, human experiences and forms of sociality were concentrated, which at other times were rarefied. Visiting the Pirazzoli Mill means breathing these atmospheres, but also it is above all living an experience of direct knowledge of a real monument of industrial archeology. The operation of the mill required the clean grain to be poured into the hopper and from here, through chute pipes, led to the grinding system: cylinders or millstones.
The mill is still owned by the Pirazzoli family and can be visited by reservation.
