Information
The territory of Carlantino is rich in history, told by the traces, finds and testimonies exhibited in the Archaeological Museum. The collected heritage spans a wide period from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages; very interesting are the finds of the Samnite and Roman period and come from the archaeological area of Monte San Giovanni and that of Santo Venditti. Among the most interesting objects of the collection are an Etruscan bucchero in black paint with vegetable decorations and many war finds, such as a bronze heart cover, a dagger (sword with straight and short blade) always in bronze, fragments of helmets. Very beautiful small bronze statue depicting a male figure (probably a warrior) completely naked with the exception of a headdress and a drape on the shoulder; The man holds up his right arm with a pose that suggests that originally the figure could wield a weapon lost.
