In several rooms located on the ground floor and in the basement of the building is housed the museum that offers routes on classical and medieval archeology.
Numerous finds from the pre-Roman era, consisting of grave goods, spearheads, earrings, bronze pins, hydries àpule, kylix, fuseruole, lamps, mugs, Olle, sphagheion, cups with geometric decoration and black paint, craters, pitchers, pyxes and ceramic plates. Noteworthy are the male heads in limestone, part of funerary stelae dating back to the period between the eighth and fourth century BC.
From Roman times are some granite columns, Corinthian capitals, funerary epigraphs and a millstone for cereals. Among the most interesting finds of this era is the basolato of the Via Traiana, found under the mantle of Via Regina Margherita. The sepulchral slab of Rubria Marcella dates back to the II sec. d.c. and was found in the XI sec. On it are carved in bas-relief a festoon with fruit and a sow with seven little pigs (image that was the first coat of arms of the city).
From the Middle Ages there are Byzantine crosses, mosaics, sarcophagi, sepulchral slabs and a columbarium-tomb. The sarcophagus of the sixth century BC of San Secondino, who was bishop of Aeca between the fifth and sixth centuries, is of Byzantine taste and shows geometric engravings and crosses on the sides. The body of Secondino, that the legend wants among 12 confessors expelled from northern Africa following the persecutions against the Christians, was found without the head in the eleventh century inside a rock church dedicated to San Marco.
There are also modern works such as the coats of arms and bust of Alfonso D'Aragona and other contemporary Trojan artists: the plaster works of Nicola Fiore and the canvases of Vincenzo Curcetti.
