Information
The majestic building is located not far from the Cathedral, in a dominant position with respect to the entire village. The fortified building was erected in the 16th century by the will of the nobles Caracciolo, Dukes of Volturara, on the remains of a castle. Over time, the structure, which is characterized by its remarkable vertical development (5 levels,) has undergone numerous reworkings, which have compromised the original plant, first completely concealing the defensive purposes, therefore also the elements proper to the noble residence.
The inside of the palace, of private property, is not today visitable.
