Information
To remind us of the importance of Asculum in the Roman period, there is also this work of road and hydraulic engineering that has not only survived time, but that is still working.
Emperor Trajan had it built in the early years of the second century A.D. as part of the restructuring of the road network that linked Rome to the East. The bridge, located on the provincial road to Foggia four kilometers from Ascoli Satriano, crosses the river Carapelle with a three-arched donkey-back structure.
