Information
Built in 1756 on the remains of a portal dating back to the seventh century, the door is decorated according to the dictates of baroque architecture.
It is also called the Arch of San Potito dell'Ospedale, because on its top, stands the stone bust of San Potito Martire, Patron Saint of the City. The Porta consists of a majestic round arch bearing the city coat of arms in the keystone and framed by pilasters with alternate ashlars. The architrave has broken curved tympani, and has two side acrothers joined by central grating.
