Information
Near the Town Hall is visible the reconstruction of the Porta Sant'Antonio, whose original version was demolished in 1925. The entrance is characterized by the ogival arch and the wooden deck.
Going up along Via la Torre you come across the beautiful Portella, also called supportive. It is the ancient access to the Castle; it has a very deep stone structure consisting of two barrel vaults separated by a cross. On the archivolt are carved three crossed horseshoes, symbolizing the original structure of the village, and a pine tree, symbol of hope.
From the Church of Santa Croce, taking the descent of Via del Risorgimento, you reach the Porta Nova, called in dialect "cautone", or grand opening. The Porta presents on the stone archivolt the coat of arms of Gambacorta and is characterized by a wooden vault; beyond the door opens the Belvedere Cerulli that gives a spectacular view of Lake Occhito.
Finally, at the homonymous Monastery there is the Porta di San Nicola, also called of the Earth or Feud. It is perhaps the simplest of the doors of Celenza: the horns of the round arch have moldings on the side, while above the keystone, there is a carved shield with a hand holding a dagger.
