It is a huge monolith that was a sacred site in pagan times. The rock is a place of rest and reproduction of birds of prey, especially hawks, and at its feet presents in spring a beautiful bloom of daffodils. It marks an unprecedented landscape for the Dauni Mountains, which boast only another similar site: the Santulize Stone near Sant'Agata di Puglia.
