Information
At the time it was called Mutatio Aquilonis: Aquilo is the name of the source that rises near it and that originates the river Celone.
The post became an inn in the Middle Ages, giving hospitality to pilgrims who travelled the Via Francigena and was restored at the behest of Charles of Anjou in 1269, who in nearby Crepacore sent a contingent of Provençal soldiers. To this historical event we owe the Franco-Provençal language spoken today in Faeto and Celle di San Vito. Today it looks like a sixteenth-century farmhouse and is known as "Masseria dei Conti Maresca'' who own it. Not far from the tavern are visible the ruins of the rock church dedicated to San Vito.
